I have come to respect and find value in Zoom but there simply is NO app, software, or platform that can match the in-person experience.

Over the past 3 years, I have seen virtually every one of Vladimir’s Zoom classes/seminars and yes, they were exceptional. Yesterday, we had an in-person seminar. Truth be told, I would trade every single Zoom session just to have one in-person seminar.

To say it was exceptional is an understatement. A group of about 20 met in W. Palm Beach (thanks to Tommy Floyd) for a 5+ hour seminar. It was a blending of technical skill and physicality. I was reminded of how many small but valuable details I had forgotten over time.

The knife training as well as groundwork was filled with powerful creativity and elegant movement. Systema is such an incredible, if not misunderstood art. It is such a gift that we get to experience this with a true master.

Speaking with and listen to Vladimir is a seminar in itself. One of the phrases that really caught my attention was when he said, “The more you try to control, the less freedom you have.” He was referring to knife work at the time yet the identical words can apply to virtually all aspects of life as well. Yet another example of what a gift it is to train with a master in this art.

I am very grateful to Tommy who made this possible and the 20 or so participants I had the pleasure of working with. Of course, huge thanks to Vladimir and Valerie for coming to Florida and honoring us with your teaching.
